Needed Items

High-Priority Outerwear

  • Heavy Winter Coats & Parkas: Down-filled or synthetic insulation (must have working zippers).
  • Snow Pants: Essential for children walking to school, but also needed for adults who work or wait for transit outside.
  • Winter Boots: Insulated and waterproof (check that soles are not worn out).
 

Warm Accessories

  • Toques (Winter Hats): Wool or fleece-lined are best.
  • Waterproof Mittens & Gloves: Mittens are often better for younger children as they keep hands warmer.
  • Scarves & Neck Warmers: Neck warmers (buffs) are often safer and easier for children than long scarves.
 

Layering & Warmth

  • Thick Hoodies & Fleece Sweaters: For wearing under thinner jackets.
  • Thermal Underwear (Long Johns): Tops and bottoms.
  • Flannel Shirts: For durable warmth.

  • Warm Socks: Thermal, wool, or moisture-wicking blends.
  • Underwear: For all ages.
 

Bedding

  • Warm Blankets: Fleece or wool throws.
 

Sleeping Bags: Rated for cold weather (for unhoused individuals).
