KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Income and ROI:
- Achieve income targets across all channels.
- Ensure optimal return on investment for fundraising programs and regularly monitor performance.
Fundraising & Engagement Strategy, Planning, and Execution:
- Set the vision and strategic plan for MWC’s fundraising and engagement.
- Plan, budget, test, and implement approved fundraising strategies to exceed targets.
- Drive audience and segmentation strategies.
- Cultivate ethical and creative approaches to potential and existing supporters.
- Play a key relationship role with high-value donors and provide guidance on the High Value Team strategy.
- Create strategies for ongoing innovation and testing in fundraising programs.
- Integrate with the Program Department to ensure a unified approach to fundraising.
- Implement strategies to attract high-level pro bono contributions.
- Adhere to fundraising guidelines established by provincial and federal governments.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate a high-performing fundraising department.
- Create a culture of accountability and empowerment within the team.
- Optimize key fundraising strategies, including digital marketing and major donor programs.
- Oversee staff development, ensuring ongoing training and mentoring.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are observed.
Data-Led Culture:
- Evaluate and improve fundraising strategies and systems.
- Provide regular fundraising reports to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Maintain knowledge of fundraising trends locally and internationally.
- Ensure fundraising strategies are supported by clear, concise metric dashboards.
Compliance with Framework Conditions:
- Abide by MWC employment policies and ensure personal or campaign activities do not bring MWC into disrepute.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge:
- Hands-on experience in building donor acquisition and retention programs.
- Understanding of the not-for-profit sector.
- Awareness of local fundraising markets and innovation.
- Marketing degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Skills in analysis and use of computer tools/applications.
- Experience with Donor Perfect/Salesforce or equivalent CRMs.
- Experience with digital marketing automation tools.
Skills:
- Success in developing and managing fundraising campaigns from concept to delivery.
- Intellectual ability to contribute to MWC’s policies.
- Creative flair and a track record of innovation.
- Ability to drive organizational change.
- Ability to analyze numbers and interpret data.
- Proven ability in creating engaging, audience-centered communications.
Experience:
- At least 8 years of senior fundraising or equivalent commercial sector experience generating multi-channel income programs.
- At least 8 years in a senior leadership position, contributing to a senior leadership team.
- At least 5 years in a people management position.
- Demonstrated success in leading multi-skilled teams with significant income goals.
- Experience in presenting strategies and reports to executive-level audiences.
- Proven experience in delivering effective retention and development strategies.
- Proven experience with digital marketing strategy and digital fundraising.
- Experience in grant writing, preparing reports, and creating proposals.
- Experience in managing budgets to achieve measurable income and performance goals.
- Demonstrated success in leading projects and developing staff.
